The Diploma of Equine Podiotherapy is much more than a "how to trim a hoof" course. We have learnt how to assess the whole horse, and apply the hoof care most appropiate.
As a vet, it has given me an additional treatment option especially for those previously frustrating cases and hoof care now forms part of my treatment plan.
I know WHAT to do, WHY it needs to be done and can simply explain it to the client from a scientific basis, and know HOW to carry it out.
It has really filled in the gap between vet and hoof care, and the horses and clients are seeing the benefits.

I'd just like to say the following -
Anyone who is serious about giving the best hoofcare, either for performance or rehabilitation, this course is a must. Course material is in-depth, tutors are extremely knowledgeable and the diploma will set you up as an excellent hoofcare professional. The college of equine podiotherapy has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and you will be made to feel at home straight away.

This course has taught me to look at horses in a new light, with so much focus on the whole horse, not just the hooves. When assessing a horse I am now able to pick up on so much more than i ever would have before.
In the past year i have been able to develop my skills past just surface trimming, to really understanding the anatomy and function which enables me to make better informed trimming decisions. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to take their trimming to the next level.

Hi all my name is Nick Munn of Brylie Stud.
Before I started the Podiotherapy diploma I had lived, owned, competed, worked and taught beginners riding and husbandry with our Equine friends all my life (I'm 32). My schooling was good but minimal and I thought I had a fair knowledge of horses and the industry in total, mmmm, until the very first day I arrived at Mayfair ( beautiful place by the way.) Every lecturer, teacher, peer and person involved or just there has a wealth of knowledge to share at any time, not not just around OZ but all over the world. Up to date information with absolutely no prejudice against any form of hoof care method with lecturers like Dr. Bob Bowker who are the pinnacle of knowledge in their fields their experience and offered with h
umbleness creates the best most relaxed form of educating I have ever been a part of.
It would have been absolutely fantastic had we just been educated on the hoof trimming but as I found out I have gained a total over, under and side to side view of horses, my visual observations were trained to immediately notice symptoms and then look for the cause, we were given years of insightful and accredited industry knowledge and also very knowledgeable business practices. As podiotherapist students you will be encouraged and taught how to incorporate safe work practices for business or domestic use and also how to communicate with clients and Vets. The diploma in Equine Podiotherapy is the most advanced learning tool for Equine Industry workers and part timers or anyone who cares about horses in my opinion.

The Dip. EPT is so much more than some "how to trim course"!
The benefits realised from any course are proportional to the efforts put in and certainly the open and enquiring approach from the diverse range of quality presenters has compelled me to "put in" the required effort, with obvious results to my clients and my own horses".
Duncan Mclaughlin, Tarago NSW.

Within this year I have been able to go from tentatively trimming a friend's horses on weekends to professionally caring for over 100 horses and still expanding. This course helped me achieve my aim of being a professional trimmer and now I am well on my way to being considered the "trimmer of choice" for my region. Martin Godwin, Dunkeld VIC.

Not only did this course provide detailed information on the equine foot on a microscopic level (Prof. Robert Bowker) to the practical aspects of physiological trimming for both maintenance and pathologies (Mike Ware, Andrew Bowe) it also focused on the horse in its entirety. From a variety of perspectives (Dr. Mark Curtis, Wayne Anderson, Renee Pearson) we were trained as professionals to closely observe the signals in hoof, body, stance, biomechanics and behavior that would assist us in our aim to bring about a healthy foot and long term soundness.
